Chandni Chowk To China is an action-comedy movie. Akshay Kumar & Deepika Padukone starrer CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA is all set to hit the screens worldwide on 16th January 2009. It is a story of a chef named Sidhu (play by Akshay Kumar) who is mistaken to be a martial arts expert. Deepika Padukone is in double role in this movie. She plays roles of Chinese Woman (Meow Meow) and an Indian Woman (Sakhi).
CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA, the first ever Bollywood Kungfu comedy takes you on a madcap journey from the by-lanes of Chandni Chowk in Delhi, to Shanghai, the Great Wall and rural China, marrying in its wake hilarious gags, breathtaking action, spectacular locations and heart stirring emotions.Our protagonist Sidhu (Akshay Kumar) is the lowest on the totem pole, cutting vegetables at a road side food stall in Chandni Chowk in Delhi. He longs to escape his dreary existence and looks for shortcuts- with astrologers, tarot readers, & fake fakirs- basically believing anything except himself, despite his father figure Dada’s (Mithun Chakravorty) best efforts. His redeeming moment arrives when two strangers from China claim him as a reincarnation of a war hero in the past and take him to China.

Its a so so movie. Quite funny at times...Don't expect much from this movie...and don't even compare with Great --Ghajini
Very Sad!
Considering the potential of the Warner Brothers... and talented actors like Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborthy, Ranveer Shorey and Deepika Padukone...this movie is a total dud! with it's weak Direction, screen play, stunts...totally th movie falls flat!
When I heard it is from Warner Brother's house...I had great expectations! But alas, totally....disappointed.... What a weak plot and also such a pathetic climax!
When will our Indians stretch themselves to the internation caliber...for the revenue that went into the movie, and our real stunt master Akshay kumar...the movie would have had really awesome stunts...nothing there...no good music, no strong plot, no breathe taking stunts...nothing...First of I wonder why did the producers choose Nikhil Advani to direct this movie? He is fit for directing drama/ romantic movies....not a comedy thriller movies...Grow up kids!Days ahead are full of tough competition, we cannot wate our money on such a kind of mediocre movies!
Ok...coming to movie, performance wise, Akshay Kumar did justification to his role, off late where did the action hero vanish? Just a joker, degradinbg himself with unnecessary sloppy jokes...we anticipated to see a 'Khiladi' in this movie...not a sardarji!
Mithunda? Aap kya kar rahein thein movie mein? Thinking of what did you say yes to this role? Miniscule role....not worth for an actor of your caliber...
Ranveer shorey...Oye...this kind of role would have been better for any mateur artist...not a seasoned artist like you....
Deepika...huh! the cry baby of the movie...always seen just two tears down her cheeks! come on learn better acting skills first!

Chandni chowk to china is a very senseless movie, full of stupidity. The first half is even worse. It is a wastage of money and time. It is not even entertaining.
It does not seem like the reviewer has actually watched the movie. It is another disastrous effort by Nikhil Advani to try and make a career out of something he knows nothing about i.e. FILM MAKING. A 15 year old could have written a better story and executed it to make it presentable for an audience.
first half was really pathetic.. second half got a bit better.. has only few funny scenes.. well guyz go for australia rather than wathcing cc2c..

Read the really bad reviews all over the news from indiafm etc etc. But come on, this is a Akshay Kumar movie. Over the last couple of years from the Khiladi movies to the Heera Pheeri movies to the Singh is King ( urban myth has it that the producer came up with the title first off a truck bumper sticker and then created the story!) to this and we have all watched those and loved them, and this movie fits exactly into all of those. A fan of those will definitely like this!!
Akshay Kumar is the true successor to the Bachchan of the 80s and 70s ( the Namak Halal, the AAA days! no one makes those madcap movies anymore and that is essentially because no one of the new generation can carry off those madcap antics - talking to mirrors (AAA) etc etc). He proved this with SIK and carries on that tradition with CC2C.
As everyone by now knows AK plays a chef who is mistaken for the reincarnation of Leing Shung ( famous Chinese legend who protected China on the Great Wall of China) and is taken off to China to save a village from Hujo.
Along the way he runs into Deepika who plays twin sisters ( and big big shock - its a been a while since an Indian actress has been given a substantial role in a complete time pass movie!, also been a while since movies have had twin sisters, amnesia etc etc), AK falls in love, loses a family member , starts to believe in himself and finally defeats the villain.
Go and watch this movie, it is well worth the time and money being spent.
( the caveat being : if you are in a mood for A Wednesday, Mumbai Meri Jaan , KKKG , KKHH, go watch Che Part 1 or Twilight or the Reader or rent those instead. If in the mood for a SIK, Heera Pheeri, Namak Halal kind of entertainment , then go watch this , its a great 2.5 hours ).
Were u in any way paid by the cc2c guys or r u one of them??? How can u even compare this tasteless kichdicumchowmin with movie like Namak Halal. I wish Nikhil Advani had used his resourses better such a waste of time and money(more so their's).
I would give this stupid senseless foray some 0 to 1 rating. I was so restless and eager for the movie to be over and me to get the hell out of the theatre.
i dont understand "what do guys expect from a bollywood movie?" i mean what are your expectations?? everyone is like " dont expect anything fro this movie". "nothing like great ghajini" (which is not even orignal bollywood movie) movies are meant for entertainment... which mean if its funny u laugh, if not then u dont..

samething in ghajini same old love story except for some fighting scenes. (some of the scenes are exact copy of hollywood movie)

I havent seen this movie yet,,, was eagerly waiting for this movie..
However I am dishearted after reading the comments and review of this movie..I guess my money is saved now,,, AKSHAY wont be able to replace SRK or Amir Khan from No.1 bcoz of Nikhil Adwani...
Who dislikes this movie he should watch DD-1 serials or SRK love stories like raj/surinder. He should not watch entertaining movies and action comedy movies. I think people didn't like this movie because they thought Akki will capture the NO.1 position permanently. otherwise there is nothin to dislike this movie. Its a fully entertaining action-comedy movie. I think its a very good experiment from Akshay kumar
We clap for every stunts those has been played by Jacky Chain in his movie and enjoy his stupidity when he play his jokes. We come out with words that this is mind blowing and entertaining and our Hindi movie industries don't make such film like this.
Chandni Chowk to China is the movie of type what we always wanted to but can't accept the reality the Akshaya Kumar has played the Kung-Fue style that has been practiced by common women of the house and the most of the respectable person above might be the man of house who has made this silly comments about story plots and stuff like that. Infect who really cares when James Bond or Jacky Chain plays this type of silly stunts..! Infect this shows how orthodox man made society is this which can not imagine that her wife might be stronger then him.... lol.
Yes there is always a better way then it was used but on the way to attempt for the first time always space for a mistake. Plots drama or the hero can do whatever is also there in Ghajni when they shows that after a lot of murders and attempt to kill an inspector Amir is with kids not in jail or hospital...!
In fact this movie takes HINDI FILM INDUSTRY to a class to appeal real international audience from China or for the fans of Jacky Chain and many more great actors around the world. International audience dose not mean US and UK that is the same for China too. This is way more populated then this 2 so called area. This opens the door to sell our movie with sub titles...!
